10th International Turkish Language Olympics begin

ISTANBUL- Organized by the International Turkish Language Association (TURKCEDER) under the slogan "humanity hand in hand for a feast", the Turkish language olympics are being attended by 1,500 students from 135 countries worldwide.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony for the olympics, Turkey's Minister of National Education Omer Dincer said that they were making serious efforts to spread the Turkish language to all corners of the world.

We are making efforts to teach Turkish out of schools with the Yunus Emre Institutes being established in various countries, Dincer stated.

The Tenth International Turkish Language Olympics will take place between May 30 and June 14. As part of the olympics, special shows and performances will take place in 41 Turkish provinces, including Istanbul and Ankara.
