Turkish national defense minister meets his German counterpart

Turkish National Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz had a meeting with German Defense Minister Thomas de Maiziere in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Wednesday.

ANKARA- After the meeting, Maiziere told reporters that Germany agreed with Turkey that Bashar al-Assad regime must end murders and violence in Syria.

Maiziere offered his condolences to Turkey over eight soldiers' death in southeastern province of Hakkari, stating that Germany was beside Turkey in fight against terrorism.

"There have been friendly ties between Turkey and Germany," he said.

Yilmaz said that Germany was a trustworthy friend of Turkey, stating that NATO members; Turkey and Germany aimed at confidence and stability in the world.

"There has been a sound cooperation between Turkish and German armed forces and it can be boosted," he said.

"We, as Turkey, consider that regional and international matters should be solved by dialogue," he said.
