Turkish exporters launched an introduction group for the Far East market.
Exporters aim doubling the dried fruit exportation by 2023.
IZMIR- The group plans to arrange tasting sessions in China, Japan, Indonesia, Russia and India.
Eli Alharal, Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) Dried Fruit sector board chairman spoke to AA correspondent and said that their aim was increasing the current 1.4 billion USD worth of exportation to 3 billion USD.
He stated that Europe was the most important market in the dried fruit sector and he highlighted that they are satisfied with the sales results of dried fruits in Europe.
Now, we target rising markets in order to develop and we already started working with some firms and exportation unions in China and Japan, Alharal said.
Alharal also mentioned, "We believe, Far East will leave Europe's dried fruit demand behind. China is starting to advertise through television and setting up tasting corners in supermarkets already."
