Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc on Tuesday said that the speculations on a Turkish military jet downed by Syria on June 22 were designed to increase tension between Turkey and Syria and were attempted to make one country righteous.
ANKARA- Speaking to reporters in Turkish capital of Ankara, Bulent Arinc said that they were sure about the accuracy of their news sources as a state. "All news are being kept in records," Arinc noted.
"We have all the radar information showing the flight of our military jet. We should not permit speculations about where the jet was downed. At this point, we have to rely on the statements made by our General Staff and Foreign Ministry," Arinc stated.
"We are a state. There are things that a state could do to another state in such a matter. Turkey is determined to do what it can do under international laws vis-a-vis Syria," Arinc underlined.
"Since we do know where the military jet fell, we have technically proven that it was downed by a missile," Arinc said.
"Had the military jet been in a range of antiaircraft gun, it should have been hit from a closer distance and it would have been possible to detect such an attack by looking at the pieces recovered," Arinc also said.
