Turkey's gold exports in five months worth 4 bln USD

Turkey's gold exports were worth four billion USD in the first five months of 2012.

ISTANBUL- According to the Turkish Central Bank, Turkey exported gold worth 4.02 billion USD between January and May.

"In the same term, Turkey imported gold worth 2.3 billion USD," the Central Bank said.

Turkey's gold exports were up 13.3 percent in May, 2012 when compared to the previous month and were worth 1.4 billion USD.

In May, Turkey's gold imports were up 91 percent when compared to the previous month and were worth 1.08 billion USD.
