Turkish foreign minister meets Syrian general TlassTurkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu received Syrian general Manaf Tlass who defected from Syrian army and joined the opponents. ANKARA- Davutoglu and Tlass met at Foreign Ministry residence in Ankara on Thursday. Following the meeting, they attended a fast-breaking dinner (iftar). Sources from opponents in Syria earlier said that Tlass had defected from Syrian army and left the country in the beginning of July. Gen. Tlass was one of the most senior figures to defect from Assad's regime. 27 July 2012
