Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Egyptian President Mohammed Moursi met in Mecca, Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.
MECCA- Gul is currently in Saudi Arabia to attend the ongoing 4th extraordinary summit meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu also attended the meeting of the two presidents.
It was the first face to face meeting of Gul with Moursi after he was elected president in the first democratic elections held in Egypt following the Arab Spring.
Gul said that Turkey, with all its facilities, would support Egypt, adding that the relations between Turkey and Egypt, two important countries of Islamic world, were vital and necessitated close cooperation.
Noting that Egypt should be careful regarding economic issues besides the political ones, Gul said that Turkey would make all the contribution it could.
Moursi said that his country's relations with Turkey would be stronger and more comprehensive.
Moursi invited Gul to Egypt in December, and Gul accepted the invitation.
