Turkish president meets counterparts in CairoTurkish President Abdullah Gul on Wednesday held series of separate meetings with his counterparts in Cairo, the Egyptian capital, where he participated in the 12th edition of a summit meeting of the leaders of Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Cairo - Gul met with Turkish Cypriot President Dervis Eroglu, Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir and Mohammed Waheed Hassan, president of the Maldives. The Turkish president separately met with Moaz al-Khatib, leader of the National Coalition for Opposition Forces and the Syrian Revolution. Gul also met with Egypt-based Turkish businesspeople. The Turkish leader is expected to meet Thursday with Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi and later depart for Turkey. 7 February 2013
